- parish_estimate — MCS's public dashboard has no parish-level export -- South Oxfordshire's own household-uptake rate (value) is copied directly, unchanged, assuming similar renewable-uptake propensity to the wider district (ADR-0007, Q-011) -- `method=direct` reflects that no address-weighting arithmetic produces this value itself. Only the separate `estimated_installations` figure (not part of this schema) is backed out from Cholsey's real Census 2021 household share of South Oxfordshire's households.

Heat pump uptake: % of dwellings. Only one area has a figure for this measure, so there is nothing to compare it with on the map.

What this means
Draft wording: awaiting review by the parish council.
A heat pump heats a home by moving heat from the air or ground outside. It uses much less energy than a gas boiler for the same warmth, and it can run on clean electricity.
This shows the share of homes with a heat pump installed by a certified installer. A higher share is better, because heat pumps are the main way to stop heating homes with gas.
The source only counts installations certified under the MCS scheme. It reports for the whole South Oxfordshire district. Where the Cholsey figure is marked as an estimate, it is based on the district rate. In that case it cannot show how Cholsey differs from its neighbours.
Opportunities
- Government grant for a heat pump (GOV.UK)
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme gives a grant towards the cost of a heat pump for eligible homes in England.
